Dee Butler Moorehead
Spouse’s Name: Jimmy

(For 45th Reunion, October, 2007)

Who are you now?

The best thing about my career is that I am retired! I still do some subbing, but that is only when I want to. The greatest accomplishment was having two classes of bilingual students pass their TAKS test in English! (I don't speak Spanish.) The highlight was being chosen teacher of the year.

Jimmy and I plan on doing some travelling and possibly moving to Palo Pinto County in a few years. My favorite place to go is Jackson Hole. It is beautiful. The “On the Road Again” girls and I have taken several trips. We spent our 60th birthdays in New York and two years later in California with Cheryl Buzzell. We have taken other side trips

My pride and joy are my six grandchildren. They help keep me young.

(From 2002, 40th Reunion.)

Number of Children: 3
Number of Grand Children: 5
Occupation: Teacher
Highest Graduate Degree: BS in Education

Jimmy and I have been married for 37 years. We have lived in Arlington all that time except for a six-month stint in Houston. We have three children, two boys and one girl. They are all married and have my five wonderful grandchildren! They are the light of my life.

I am teaching 2nd grade at Thornton Elementary. I teach 1/2 day and work with teachers the other 1/2. This is really great at my tender age. I plan on retiring in 4 years.

Jimmy and I have done a lot of travelling over the years. My favorite place is Jackson, Wyoming. I could go there every year.

I look forward to the reunion this year. It has been a lot of fun planning.
